Brexit Party ATTACK: Military Veteran covered in milkshake by YOB outside polling station
A BREXIT Party supporting pensioner has been attacked with a milkshake outside a polling station.
Don Mcnoughton a military veteran of 22 years was covered in a thick lumpy liquid during the attack, which took place outside of a polling station in Aldershot, Hants. In a video uploaded to Facebook from William Brown, the unnamed pensioner explained how a young man lobbed the milkshake over him. When asked who threw the drink over him, the man said: “Some yob, mid-twenties.”
He added: “He came across from the street, walked over to me, gave me the finger, went up to the co-op, got a milkshake and came back and threw it on me.”
Angered passer-by Lucy Blackman posted an image of the man on social media and wrote: “This poor man was covered with milkshake this morning by a disrespectful yob.
Whatever you are voting, it’s a democracy.
“We should be able to have a say without acts of violence.
“This could have been acid or anything.
“What has this country come to.”
Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage was infuriated by the incident. He tweeted: “Yet more disgusting behaviour. When democracy fails, civility ends.
“Let’s get Brexit done and finish this.”
The attack comes just days after Mr Farage had a milkshake thrown over him while out campaigning in Newcastle city centre.
Paul Crowther, 32, has been charged with common assault and criminal damage.
Speaking after Monday’s incident, Mr Farage said he did not know what was being thrown at him, and called for a message to be sent that “people can’t behave like this”.
He added: “I am concerned about the sheer level of hatred coming from those who think they’re better than me.
“I just think we’ve reached a point where normal campaigning is becoming very difficult, and that in a democratic society cannot be a good thing.”
Mr Farage said what happened to him was “part of something bigger that’s going on”.
“Civilised democracy only works if you’ve got the loser’s consent – you know, you lose the election, you don’t like it, but you accept it because that’s the system.
“Ever since 24 June 2016 we’ve had senior members of the British establishment – including two former prime ministers – literally refusing to accept the result, saying that those that voted Brexit didn’t know what they were voting for – they’re thick, they’re stupid, they’re lazy, they’re racist, they’re working class, they’re fat, they’re horrible.
“And that gives people on the other side of the argument a sense of moral superiority.
“And if you think you’re better than everybody else that then leads, I’m afraid, to a breakdown, not just in democracy, but in the civilisation that goes with it.”

I’ve just phoned Don’s home to commiserate.
His son said he is undeterred, still on the polling station and will now be there until 10pm tonight.
Well done that man.
